Mary Opal Banks' Obituary
Mary Opal Banks, 91, of Marshall, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Legendary Nursing and Rehabilitation in Marshall. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12:00PM at Powerhouse Church in Marshall, MO. Visitation will be held from 11-12PM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Maty Opal Banks was born April 8, 1933, in Marshall, MO, the daughter of Ora and Marie Yancey Johnson. She worked for many years as a Foster Grandmother in Saline County and won many awards for her service. She was wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children Meri Alice Banks of Kansas City, MO and Azeezuddin Kasim of Marshall, MO, six grandchildren Chico Johnson, Mario Banks, Priceston Banks, Rafah Kasim, Intisar Kasim and Carmen Johnson and a host of great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Preston Banks, her brothers Ora Johnson Jr. and William Henry Johnson, her daughter Katheryn Johnson, and her grandson Dennis Banks.
Pallbearers will be Chico Johnson, Mundane Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Chazz Newbill, Dominoque Johnson and Claude Grimes Jr.
