Marnetta Vaughn's Obituary
Marnetta Vaughn,66, of Boonville passed onto eternity on Thursday October 31, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 Am at the Morgan Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
Marnetta Vaughn departed this life on October 31 at her home with her children at her side.
She maintained a good life despite her health issues without complaint and with her strong faith in the Lord.
She was born March 28, 1947 in Boonville, Mo, the daughter of Doris Lucas and Roger Williams.
She graduated from Boonville High School in May, 1965. She married Charles C Vaughn on November 18, 1966, and to that union two children were born, Lynnetta Vaughn and Rodney Vaughn.
She was employed for 25 years with Toastmaster, Inc. until their closing. She later worked for Nordyne, Inc. beginning in 1998, until her retirement. She remained active with the Nordyne retirees.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Morgan Street Baptist Church and was a faithful member at the time of her death. During her time at Morgan Street, she sang in the Harmonizers and Senior Choirs, served on the Kitchen Committee, WMU, Trustee Board and Circle #4 as a Sunshine Lady, and was also a Sunday School teacher in the Nursery. She was a member of CCBC and was a devoted and faithful worker until her illness would not allow her to do so. She was also well known for her wonderful baked goods, including pound cake, banana bread, and cheesecakes which she provided on numerous occasions.
Marnetta leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Lynnetta Vaughn, St. Peters, MO. and one son Rodney Vaughn, Columbia, MO. She also leaves one grandson, Devin Vaughn: two sisters, Charlotte Butler(Melvin) and Edna Butler and also a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Milton Lucas and two sisters Ollie Roland and Anna Sue Cross.
Marnetta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
