Margaret K. Hayes' Obituary
Margaret K. Hayes, 68, of Columbia answered the call of Jesus on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 Thursday at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
Margaret Kay Hayes was born February 11, 1943 in Columbia the daughter of John and Amanda Williams Hayes.
Kay was a graduate from Hickman High School in 1961. Known to be a music lover, she has an impressive collection of 45 records and albums. She was also an avid fan of Mizzou Women’s Basketball.
She worked for over 25 years for the University of Missouri Health Care System before working for Rusk Rehabilitation. She also worked for the Columbia Housing Authority as a manager at Paquin Towers and Imperial Auto Sales and Details. Kay was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Kay is survived by her daughter Rhea Dawn Brown, her son Michael(Toni) Hayes, four grandchildren Stephanie Brown, Tiffany Brown, John Hayes and Michaela Hayes, and one great grandchild DaZarrien Brown all of Columbia, Mo. She is also survived by four brothers Carl “Jack” Hayes of Wichita, KS., and his special friend Geraldine Morris, Clarence(Vonnia) Hayes of Las Vegas, NV., Rev. Raymond(Celestine) Hayes, and William (Cornelia) Hayes both of Columbia, four sisters Clara Pauline(James) Harris of Peoria, IL., Evelyn Lee, Phyllis(John) Williams, and Jewell Bentley all of Columbia, Mo., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cousin and best friend Julia Estes. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Kay was preceded in death by her mother and father, and also her sister Julie Carol Hayes
