Lucy Gant's Obituary
Lucy Gant, slept into the arms of Jesus on Friday October 11, 2013 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 19, 2013 at 12 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marshall. A visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 pm at the church. Burial will be held on Monday October 21, 2013 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
A woman who loved the Lord, Lucy Mae Bausily was born on February 26th, 1928 in Saline County, MO to Lacy Bausily and Emma Graves Bausily.
The youngest of a loving family Aunt Lucy was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sisters Louise and Emma Blake; and her brothers Fred, Marion, and Mick Bausily.
She was married to Alfred Gant on July 30, 1946; he preceded her in death on November 10th, 2000. Lucy worked for the United States Federal Government for more than 20 years, and also had her License from Kansas to be a Certified Nurse’s Aide in 1987. Lucy and Alfred were very active in the local community in Kansas City, helping dozens of children and their mothers develop stronger, healthier relationships.
Lucy graduated from Hubbard High in 1946 with the prophecy that her job would be giving advice to the love lorn.
Lucy leaves behind many special nieces and nephews that she loved like they were her own children; and she also leaves a special friend Doris Jackson.
