Linda Williams' Obituary
Linda Williams, 70, of Columbia,MO, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Destiny Worship Center in Columbia at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11-12 PM Friday at the church.
Linda Jean Williams was born on Monday, April 11, 1949 to Raymond Williams and Minnie West Williams in Columbia, Missouri. She was one of nine children raised in a close rural community. Linda was also the loving mother to five children.
Linda worked as a Processor at State Farm Insurance Company for over 25 years. She also worked as a Paraprofessional Teacher for 6 years with twin girls with special needs. She finished her working career as a Direct Support Professional at Woodhaven, where she worked for 8 years.
Linda established and leaves a very strong spiritual legacy as a mighty woman of God. She was the first member that joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church when it began 40 years ago and remained committed to the church as it transitioned into Destiny Worship Center. During those years, she served as a teacher, a worshipper, intercessor and bible scholar – she was affectionately known as “Scripture Lady.” Linda also loved to minister to children and had a heart for those who were less fortunate.
Linda was a hard worker, amazing mother and committed to her church. She planted a seed in everyone she met.
Survivors include her children - James (Carl) McDonald, Kimberly McDonald, Travis McDonald, Alika (Anthony) Day, and Shamon Jones; siblings – Pamela Williams, David Williams, Harlan Williams, Gary Williams; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Raymond Williams, mother, Minnie Williams; brothers – Henry Wright, James Williams, William Williams, and sister – Diane Tapp.
