Linda Key, 75, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Log Providence Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM at the church.
Linda Jean Key, 75, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO, surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born January 21, 1950, to Francis Marie Nunnelly (Howard) and Herschel Henderson, in Columbia, Missouri, both who preceded her in death. Linda was a lifelong member of Log Providence Missionary Baptist Church, and resident of Columbia, Missouri, where she was a graduate of David Hickman High School, c/o 1969.
She went on to meet and marry the love of her life, Jerry Mack Key, Sr ., June 6, 1970. He preceded her in death in February 2015.
She worked for many years at Columbia Regional Hospital in sterile processing, then as a physical therapy assistant, which she continued to do up until her retirement at 65 from Missouri Orthopedic Institute in January 2015.
To know Linda was to love her . She was known for her larger-than-life personality, big heart and always being the life of the party. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She never missed a beat or opportunity to live it up with her girlfriends on the town. She loved her music and her wine. Even the opportunity to try her luck at the casino when she could.
Linda leaves to honor her memories: two sons, Bryan Key (fiancé Jeanyelle Hyde) of Columbia, MO, Jerry Key Jr . (daughter-in-law Erica Lucas-Key) of Columbia, MO; one daughter Charise Williams of Columbia, Missouri (son-in-law John Williams who preceded her in death), Cousin whom she raised like a daughter, Adrienne Buckley of East St. Louis, IL, Cousin James McIntosh of Las Vegas, NV, 16 grandchildren, Thomas, Lony, Bryansisha, Xavier, JaJuan, Wyatt, Zeniah, Jerron, Jerrica, Evan, Marlion, Jay’ahjnae, Dacia, David, Auriel and Jashod, 6 great grandchildren, Taylen, Jayceon, Dakota, Naomi, Lennox and Layliana, and host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
