Lillie Mae Jackman's Obituary
Lillie Mae Jackman, 91, of Fayette, Mo., surrendered her soul to Christ on Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Faith Family Fellowship Church in Fayette. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Fayette.
Lillie Mae Erwin Jackman went to be with the Lord on September 14th, 2015 at her home. She was 91 years old.
Lillie Mae Erwin Jackman the only child of Susie Mae Jackmond and John Edward Erwin was born February 6, 1924 in Fayette, Missouri. She attended school in Independence, Missouri. On December 19th , 1941 she married Dallas Lee Jackman and to that union there were six children.
She worked several jobs; Central Methodist College, Mamie Rhodes Nursing Home, Private Housekeeping for several families, driving trucks for her husband in the hayfield, and many other jobs. Lillie loved to fish, loved all sports, and especially enjoyed going to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s games. She rarely missed a game. She loved being around people, loved to dance, play bingo, and travel to Oklahoma to visit her daughter and grandkids and to attend the black rodeo. She was an active volunteer at the Fayette Food Bank until her failing health. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Lee Jackman, mother Susie Mae Jackmond, father John Edward Erwin, sons Boise Wayne Jackman, Varome Maurice Jackman, and one grandson Rodney Jackman.
She leaves to cherish her memory; son Dallas Lee Jackman Jr. of Columbia, Missouri, three daughters Fonda Mcquitty and Constance Jackman both of Fayette, Missouri and Janet Jackman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Helen Jackman and Bertha Jackman, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made for the upkeep of Gold Dust Cemetery, Fayette Senior Center, or the Fayette Food Pantry entrusted to HT May & Son Funeral Home.
