Lilburn was my neighbor and friend for many years. We had some wonderful conversations on his porch and ours. He remembered playing together when we were very young. We called each other to stay in touch, and we helped each other with favors whenever needed--a true friend. When he moved away from our neighborhood, he gave me a Norfolk Island Pine tree that he'd been growing in his front window for several years. It is still thriving, and is currently growing another tier of limbs. I wanted to tell him about that, but I'm confident he knows now. I am sure I'm not alone when I say it was a genuine privilege to know him and be one of his friends. --Pat Hanna
