Lewis Moore's Obituary
Lewis Moore, 88, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. Private funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM at St. James United Methodist Church in Fulton, MO. Visitation will be on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 5-7 PM at St. James United Methodist Church.
Lewis Colleen Moore was born August 15th, 1932 in Bluffton, Missouri to Joe Sam and Alberta Moore. Colleen was the eighth child of thirteen and loved being from a big family. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters and was very close to them.
Colleen was very proud of his military service. He served during the Korean War and often reminisced about his time in Korea. Upon returning from his service, he was introduced to Marcia L. Smith. They were united in marriage on October 5th, 1955. She brought two sons to this marriage and together they had three more sons. Colleen drove the school bus for many years. He then worked for Hazelrigg Trucking company. He spent the rest of his years as a mechanic and loved working on cars and trucks.
Colleen was a great mechanic and was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed auctions, junking, socializing, playing cards, and trips to Las Vegas. Colleen was very proud of his family and their accomplishments.
Colleen leaves behind his children Les Smith (Lisa), Larry Smith (Laura), Gregory Moore (Marsha), Michael Moore, and Steven Moore, grandchildren Jason Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Megan Lomo, Brittanie Salmons, Ashly Galbreath, Larry Smith, Randall Cole and Michelle Moore and great grandchildren Kristen Smith, Kirsten Smith, Amiyah Edwards, Hayden Frost, Christopher Smith, Oakley Salmons, and Ava Lomo. He leaves behind four siblings, Betty Guyton, Gloria Washington, Donque Moore and Larry Moore.
Colleen was preceded in death by both parents Joe and Alberta Moore, his wife Marcia Moore, 8 siblings Blora Coleman, Joseph Moore, Leland Moore, Mary Nunnelly, Landon Moore, Peggy Greer, Bonnie Abney, and Lucy Flyingcloud.
Colleen will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
