Letha M. Simmons' Obituary
Letha M. Simmons, 72, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Parkside Manor in Columbia of natural causes. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Thursday at the church.
Letha M. Simmons was born July 30, 1945, in Parkin, AR., the daughter of Virgil Eugene and Dorenda Johnson Horn. Letha graduated from Parkins Arkansas Central High School in May 1964. She married Fred Randall Simmons on July 14, 1966. She was a long time employee of the University of Missouri for over 37 years. She was also a member of the Foster Grandparents program at Nora Stewart daycare and West Boulevard elementary school, and she was a volunteer at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Letha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Fred Simmons Jr.(Linda Landreth) and Thomas Eugene Simmons both of Columbia, MO., one sister Bertha Warrick of Columbia, MO., and one brother Henry Dogan of Columbia, MO., 11 grandchildren including Cameron Landreth Simmons and 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Anthony and Brian, and her former husband Fred Simmons Sr., and one granddaughter Santana Boyd.
