Leonard Poindexter's Obituary
Leonard Poindexter, of Sedalia flew up with the angels to Heaven on Monday October 28, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 2, 2013 at 1pm at Ward Memorial Baptist Church in Sedalia. The visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm at the church.
Leonard Richard Poindexter Jr. (Tiny Baby) was born Aug 18 1947 in Sedalia Missouri to the late Leonard R. Poindexter and Kathryn A. Penn Poindexter. Tiny was the eldest of 8 children weighing in at a little over 13lbs when he was born. Tiny attended Hubbard school. If you wanted to see Tiny, you could catch him setting on his front porch or under the tree as you drove through the projects. Some of his favorite things to do were, green hunting, fishing, telling his stories, dancing and singing ( SHOOP,SHOOP). He loved spending his Sundays at Beverly’s, watching football and cooking. He also enjoyed his Thursday Bible study with Coach Jenkins. His annual thing to do was go to the Christmas party that Larry Foster held. Most of all Tiny loved his family and friends especially his nieces, nephews and kids in the projects along with animals. Tiny leaves to mourn his passing. 3 brothers; William F. Poindexter Claremont, CA, Morrece G. Poindexter (Denise) Sedalia, MO, Keven L. Poindexter(Norma) Marietta, GA. 4 sisters; Rose M. poindexter, Sherita K. Poindexter, Marsha A. Poindexter and Carmen R. Taylor(Charles) all of Sedalia, MO. 1 uncle Lester Boggs( Uncle Fess) Sedalia Mo. A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Two that he held close to his heart. Beverly Clark and Evelyn Smallwood Shaw; and a brotherly friend Raymond Maupins. Tiny Baby will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
