Leonard Flowers' Obituary
Leonard Flowers, 61, of Boonville, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at University of Missouri Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 9, 2013 at 2 pm at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
Leonard Earl Flowers was born November 17, 1951 in Chickasha, OK, the son of Elbert V. Flowers and Margaret Craig. He attended school in Wichita, KS. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1973 and was awarded: The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Service Star, and One Overseas Bar.
He married Peggy A. Flowers on April 28, 1990. One child was born to this Union, Thomas E. Flowers of Columbia, MO. He affectionately nick-named himself “Ole Man” to his three step-daughters, Renee Harvey and husband Andre of Conyers, GA, LaWeda Turner-Adio of Lancaster, TX, and Marlisa Turner of Columbia, MO. His hobbies included sports, fishing, barbecuing, and listening to jazz.
He is also survived by two brothers: Eddie Flowers and Angela Smith of Wichita, KS, Xavier Bryant Flowers of Leavenworth, KS; sisters Belinda Anderson, Kathryn Johnson of Wichita, KS, J. Lavonne Moore and husband Stacy, step-sister Veronda Lytle of Tulsa, OK, sister -in- law Willa and Richard Husband of Sedalia, MO, Brother-in-laws Robert Wheeler and wife Anna of Seattle, WA, and Dennis Wheeler and wife Jo of Bradenton, FL. He also leaves two step-granddaughters, one step- great granddaughter and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents and two siblings.
