Lawrence Johnson's Obituary
Lawrence Johnson, 62, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Second Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday.
Lawrence Johnson (AKA) L.J., 62, of Mexico, Missouri received his wings on January 20, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital.
Lawrence was born on September 17, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Vernon Johnson and Maudie Bel Nickens Vaughn. Lawrence attended Mexico High School. He worked at A.P. Greens for four years. Lawrence attended St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Lawrence enjoyed working on cars, fishing, talking mess and hunting. Lawrence was full of life and love. Lawrence met the love of his life Frannie in 1983.
He is survived by his wife Frannie of the home, Laquisha (Jonatha) of Mexico, Missouri, Jaquisha of Mexico, Missouri, Emmauael (Poo) of Springfield, Missouri, LaToya of Mexico, Missouri, Lawran (Sierra) of Mexico, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren: Adonus, Dainesha, J’Marquay, Amar, Laura, Nakia, Dae’Kuan, Devonte, Asia, Xavier, Brayleigha, Emmuael, Emmani, Antwan, Avaya; three great grandchildren: Amyra, Adonus Jr. and Cyree. He also leaves siblings Vermell (Penny) Weston, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tony Johnson of Mexico, Missouri, Mary Mahanney of Fulton, Missouri, Vickie (Todd) Gardner of Mexico, Missouri, Tommy Johnson of Mexico, Missouri, Keith Johnson of Columbia, Missouri and Trava (Chip) Johnson of Mexico, Missouri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Vernon Johnson and Maudie Bel Nickens-Vaughn, grandparents Joseph and Clementine Nickens, Joseph (Brock) Nickens Uncle George Woolery, Aunt Heneritta Nickens and sister Nicole Johnson.
Lawrence had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could. He will truly be missed, he was one of a kind with a gentle soul.
