Larry Newman's Obituary
Larry Newman, 67, of Columbia, MO passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1-2PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Larry David Newman was born on February 8, 1957, in Fayette, Missouri, to William Newman and Barbara (Estill) Newman, who preceded him in death.
Larry grew up in Bunceton, Missouri. He loved playing basketball, fishing, and listening to music. Larry worked as a Banquet Manager in Columbia until he became ill and retired. Larry and Gina met in 1992, fell in love, and got married on February 27, 1997. They had three children together.
Larry is survived by his wife, Gina Newman of Columbia, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Bonnie K. Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his sons and daughters: Demetrill Newman (Melissa) of Boonville, Missouri, David Newman of Kansas City, Missouri, Shawn Newman of Columbia, Missouri, Myia Newman (Tryis) of Columbia, Missouri, and Doren Newman of Columbia, Missouri; his twin sister, Mary Wright of Bunceton, Missouri; Billie Harding of Columbia, Missouri; William Newman Jr. of Sedalia, Missouri; Dwayne Newman of Columbia, Missouri; and Katherine Newman (Rick Weaver) of Grovespring, Missouri. Grandchildren: Melinda Newman, Christina Newman, Aria Newman, and Royal Owens, all of Columbia, Missouri; Ontarious Williams, Tryson Williams, Telaya Williams, and Teraya Williams, all of Columbia, Missouri; Demi Newman, Cruz Newman, and Demetri Newman, all of Boonville, Missouri. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two sisters, Veronia Newman and Charlene Baskett, and two brothers, Eugene Newman and Ron Newman.
