Kim McDonald, 54, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023. Visitation will be held from 11-1PM on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the St. Luke United Methodist Church..
Kimberly Denise McDonald was born July 7, 1968 in Columbia, MO to Linda Jean Williams. She was raised in Columbia alongside James Carl McDonald, Travis McDonald, Alika Day and Shamon Jones in a God-fearing home. She was fun to watch playing basketball at David H Hickman High School and Moberly Community College. After college she moved to Kansas City where she worked for Hallmark and later had her own daycare. She met and married Kevin Samuels. That union birthed her only child, daughter, Gabrielle Ashley McDonald.
Kimberly and Gabrielle moved back to Columbia where Kim had a successful career with Shelter Insurance. She left Shelter to purse a career full time in selling Real Estate. When the market crashed, she branched out to working at Woodhaven and later became a photographer for Joe Machens. She always served at what ever church she was attending whether it was Sunday School teacher, administration, prayer warrior and a special gift of grant writing.
Kimberly loved people and loved her family more than herself. She knew the word of God and would never lose her faith in it and Him. She stood for truth and justice. She was so full of life and laughter. She had so much wisdom, quick witty ideas and solutions and was an excellent teacher. She would and has given the very shirt / jacket off her back to a stranger. She was a mother to so many orphans in the streets. She wanted to see others be better, do better and gain success. She was your biggest cheerleader. She is proceeded to glory by her mother, Linda Williams, grandson, Zion Michael, grandparents and a few uncles and Aunt. She leaves behind her daughter, Gabrielle Ashley McDonald, three grandchildren, Louis Green III, Zinaya McLeod and Savion McLeod, Siblings, James McDonald, Travis McDonald, Alika Day and Shamon Jones, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and loved ones. Kimberly will truly be missed and never forgotten.
