Julie Vaughan's Obituary
Julie Kay Vaughan, 65 of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 9, 1960, in Columbia to Jewell Hoskins Sr and Vena Katherine Thornton, who proceeded her in death.
Julie was one of seventeen siblings -Brenda Reno, Russell Hoskins, Gina Heggy, Gladys Lowery, Carol Sweet, Cindy Corum, Rusty Hoskins, Wayne Hoskins, Teresa Newmiller, Clarence Hoskins, Lyle Hoskins, Donna Stoddard and Wanda Jesse. She was preceded in death by her siblings Rose Proctor, Nancy Stephens, and Judy Hoskins.
Through her marriage to Carl Vaughan Jr. In 1977, she gained her beloved in-laws Carl Vaughan Sr and Joy Vaughan, along with three wonderful sisters-in-law – Liv Vaughan, Connie Hutchison, and the late Lori Winscott.
Julie was a devoted mother to her three children: Leslie (Billy) Hubbard, Rock Vaughan, and Kurt (Presley) Vaughan. She was a proud grandma to Cole Ethridge, Catlin (Joey) Thomas, Alex (Elenor) Vaughan, Natalie Vaughan, Gracelynn Vaughan, Nora Vaughan, and Porter Vaughan, and a loving great-grandma(Grammy) to Eleanor Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas, and Rowan Vaughan.
Julie worked most of her life in factories, where she mad many lifelong friends. Beyond her dedication to work and family, she enjoyed playing softball at Rainbow Fields, spent many happy evenings bowling at Oakland Plaza Lanes, and devoted countless hours cheering from the sidelines at her kids’ sporting events. In retirement she found joy in crafting over facetime with her sisters and niece.
Above all, Julie cherished her family and was always there for every moment, big and small. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, honesty, and unconditional love she gave to everyone around her.
