Wow! I am still in shock from the news of Julie's passing! Whoever wrote the obituary did a phenomenal job at capturing her accomplishments and life.
I knew Julie Adolphson (then Julie Hall) back in the early 1990s at the San Vito AS Italy Solar Observatory. I was one of the solar optical and radio analysts there and was the Radio Chief. Captain Hall back then, I never met an Air Force officer or commander who was quite as friendly, kind, compassionate, intelligent, and humble as her. She was the glue of the unit back then and always cared for every member and made life better for us. I considered her the Morale officer.
I also knew her previous husband, Karl, and there 2 boys at the time, Andrew, and Joshua. My kids used to play with them at their house in San Vito AS base housing. I also knew Alec, as he was the communications NCO that supported our solar observatory then. Julie had a direct impact on my career as she submitted me for the Air Force Space Forecast Center Space Environmental Analyst of the Year for 1992. I got the recognition because of how well she wrote and how much she wanted to recognize people for their hard work.
My heart and prayers go out to Alec, their 4 sons, her family and numerous friends. I will have a Mass said for Julie.
As a retired Air Force senior non-commissioned officer, I want to take this time to salute Julie for her dedication and service to our Country both in the Air Force and post military days with the Weather Community at large. Julie was a true Patriot and friend to so many. I thank God for the gift of Julie and ask Him to grant her eternal joy and peace!
