Juanita Charlesetta Lawhorn's Obituary
Juanita Lawhorn, 78, of Columbia, surrendered her soul to Almighty God on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:30 am at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
Juanita Lawhorn was born September 5, 1931 in Micola, Mo., the daughter of John and Helen Price Boswell. She was a member of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for the adult women, A devoted food pantry worker, a member of the Lord’s Kitchen, a member of the WMU, and a Co-Chairperson of the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven sons James Edward Williams, Jeffery Lynn Lawhorn, Courtney Lee Lawhorn, and Eric Shane Lawhorn all of Columbia, Robert Charles Lawhorn of Kansas City, Mo., Kenneth Earl Lawhorn of Ingelwood, CA., and Cornell Wayne Lawhorn of Omaha, NE, four daughters Linda Jeane Williams of Omaha, NE., Joyce Marie Lawhorn of Carson, CA., Sandra Denise Lawhorn of Columbia, and Tara Collene Lawhorn-Jackson of Lenexa, Ks., four brothers Howard D. Boswell of Hayti, Mo., Frederick “Frank” Williams of Milwaukee, Wi., Sidney Boswell of Fresno, CA., and Reginald Boswell of Poplar Bluff, Mo., three sisters Clara Coleman of Columbia, Alice Murray of Omaha, NE., and Mildred Andrews of Burmingham, AL., 27 grandhildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
