Joe and I and friends shared many happy times in high school. Almost every Sunday afternoon our twin jet Yamaha motorcycles were observed whining and winding down the country roads near Tipton, and sometimes not so near roads. The freedom we had and shared was remarkable and unforgettable.
I also cherish the memories of hard-fought games of the cutthroat pitch with Joe. I'm sure I could not keep up with him playing bridge (our folks wqere really into bridge in the 60's and played together often) but the account was balanced when it came to playing pitch. We played every time we got together for several years for a nickle dime and quarter. He might tell it differently but he won't argue with me, at least for a while yett, I hope.
Sorry I didn't get to see him as often as I would havbe liked in later years. I will miss him.
