Johnney Martin Anderson's Obituary
Johnney Anderson, 66, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, began his eternal journey on June 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Johnney was born in Chillicothe, Mo. & grew up in Richmond, Mo., he proudly served in the United States military, and worked for the City of Richmond Public Works. Above all else, his true calling was being a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and family man.
His family will always treasure the little things that made him special. He affectionately called Pepsi his “beer,” a simple joke that never failed to bring a smile to those around him. One of his favorite memories was a trip to Florida, where he sat in a chair in the ocean as the waves repeatedly tipped it over. He simply laughed and enjoyed every moment. That was Johnney—someone who found immense joy in life’s simplest pleasures.
Johnney loved gardening, playing horseshoes, attending bingo, and cheering on the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. These were the pastimes that brought him happiness and connected him with family and friends. He had many friends, & never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his children, Rachel Greenlee (Brian), Shavon Wilson (Sean), Rebecka Heath (Luke), Johnney Anderson, & his step-daughter Sheila Stover (Travis). His sisters, Clovena Morris (John), Joanie Rogers (Lenny), and Mary Nehlan (Ronald); along with many beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willow Dean and Ellsworth Anderson; his sisters, Dorothy Mathis, Regina Leabo, and Toanie Anderson; and his significant other, Becky Hansen.
Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with those who went before him. His love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on through the stories, memories, and traditions he leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held on June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at HT May & Son Funeral Home in Boonville, Missouri. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.
