John Key Sr.'s Obituary
John Key Sr., 85, of Columbia, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke United Methodist Church, visitation will be from 10-11AM Saturday at the church.
John William Key Sr. was born on January 25, 1939, in Laddonia, MO, to Larkin Key and Mary Alice Simpson. A devoted member of the Simpson Chapel AME Church for many years, John found strength and community in his faith.
John is remembered with deep love and admiration by his children: John Tucker (Jodi) of Mexico, MO; Debbie Key (Nani Morales) of Columbia, MO; John Key Jr. (Latonya Johnson) of Columbia, MO; and Karen Tucker of Fulton, MO. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Mrs. Ella Williams of Columbia, MO, and his sister, Willa Arnold (Bobby) of Scottsdale, AZ. John was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
John's legacy is one of love, family, and faith. His warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew him.
