John A Clark's Obituary
John A. Clark, 74, of Columbia, MO., passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at The Neighborhoods Retirement Center surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10-12 PM Friday at the funeral home.
John A. Clark Jr. born July 27, 1944, in Fulton, MO the son of the late John A. Clark Sr. and Bertha Irene (Galbreath) Clark. Passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Neighborhood at Tiger Place surrounded by family.
John graduated from Fulton High School. He retired from the University of Missouri and Columbia Public Schools where he worked as a custodian.
John loved to spend time with his family and friends. He also loved to dance you could hear his call "Cuckooooo" when he was having a really good time. John also loved seeing and listening to Chump Change Band play especially around his birthday. He also said back in the day he was John Shaft and had "Big Time Fun".
John is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Johnnie Cooper Clark, and a beloved special friend Nannie M. Broadus.
John leaves in God care his only daughter Lisa Thornton of Columbia, MO. 6 sisters Betty Ann Clark of Wichita, KS, Carolyn Lancaster( Harold) and Norma Clark of Fulton, MO. Margie Armstrong (Terry) of Peoria, IL. Lorraine Mahaney of Columbia, MO. Robin Ray (Kent) of Dallas, TX. 4 brothers James Clark(Wilma) of Minneapolis, MN. Joe Clark(Carolyn) and Gilroy Clark of Fulton, MO and Randy Clark(Shirley) of St. Louis, MO. 4 Stepchildren Stevie Cooper, Lamont Cooper, Cuqrita Whitley, and Tyran Thornton all of Columbia MO. 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. His beloved special companion Isabella Elbert.
