Joe Lee Rowles Sr.'s Obituary
Joe Lee Rowles Sr, 74, a life long resident of Bunceton, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home in Bunceton. Funeral arrangements will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Prairie Grove Baptist Church, Tipton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9 -11 preceding the services. A repass will be held immediately following the services at the church.
Joe Lee was born August 23, 1940 in Bunceton, Missouri, the son of Emil Robert and Lovell Dewitt Young Rowles. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. He was a graduate of Tipton High School and had attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. After Lincoln University, he became a journeyman and then, a master carpenter, working for several large construction companies within the Mid-Missouri area. Construction was his livelihood, but farming and raising livestock had always been his passion since childhood. In 1974, he started his own construction company, Central Home Improvement Company. He successfully maintained that business in conjunction with farming until his retirement. Joe especially enjoyed fishing and gaming as a few of his past time activities. Tractor pulling events and county fairs were other passions of his. Outdoor life was his enjoyment, his home away from home. He was lovingly called Dad, Grandpa, Grandfather, PaPa, Uncle Joe, Noot, Nooter and Joe Lee by his family and friends.
In 2008, Joe married Kim Booze. To that union, one child was born, Bryce Joseph. , from a previous marriage, two children were born, Deirdre Kay and Joe Lee Jr.
Joe leaves to cherish in his memory his wife, Kim Rowles of Sedalia, Missouri. Three children, Deirdre Kay Rowles of Maricopa, AZ, Joe Lee Rowles Jr (Masonya) of O’Fallon, Missouri and Bryce Joseph Rowles of Sedalia, Missouri. His siblings, Leonard Ward Rowles (Barbara) of Atlanta, Georgia, George Emil Rowles of Kansas City, Missouri and Sarah J. Rowles Sewing of Houston, Texas. In addition, he will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, Terrance Spencer Perry, Sasha Kahree Rowles, Joe Lee Rowles III, Cornell Robenson Young III, Alexandra MacKenzie Rowles and Candace Cherie Rowles plus his only great grandchild, Brielle Josephine Perry. Walter C. Rowles, of Bunceton, is his only surviving uncle. Three sisters in laws, Constance Washington, Ramona Bolade, and Priscilla Richmond, brother in law, Raymond Booze Jr His daily conversations will be sincerely missed by his best friend Charlie Williams of Boonville along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other extended family members too numerous to mention.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, his two sisters Sophia Mae Rowles Hill (Perry Layton) and baby girl Rowles (still born) and two brothers Earl Crocket (Narvetta) and Willie Herman Rowles.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial contributions to the Joe Lee Rowles Sr. Memorial Scholarship fund.
