Jewel Elbert's Obituary
Jewel Elbert, 88, of Boonville, formerly of Sedalia, slept into the arms of Jesus on Monday, February 21, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 26 2011 at Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Sedalia with Elder Calvin W. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia. Visitation will be from from 11-1 pm Saturday at the church.
Jewel was born May 29, 1922 in Pettis County Missouri the daughter of Frank and Mary Duvall Robinson. She was a member of the Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mother Board, she also attended St. Matthew AME Church in Boonville and Pleasant Hill Baptist in Clark’s Fork, Mo. She married Warsh Elbert Sr. on April 25, 1992 and he survives of the home.
Survivors include her husband Warsh Elbert Sr. of Boonville, one brother Harold Williams Sr. of Sedalia, three step-sons Warsh Elbert Jr. of Columbia, Tommy Elbert of Chicago, IL., and Walter Overton of Kansas City, Mo., four step-daughters Margaret of Richmond, VA., Georgia M. Chester of Boonville, Arlene Alexander of Dallas, TX., and Nettie White of Boonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Walter Murphy.
