Jerry Venable's Obituary
Jerry Wade Venable, 70 of Sedalia Missouri passed away at Fairview Nursing Home in Sedalia on February 12th 2026.
Jerry attended schools in Missouri and Texas before joining the Army in 1978. In his professional life he was a jack of all trades. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, eagle watching, and spelunking with his cousin Fred and best friend Butch.
He was born in Sedalia Missouri on July 23rd 1955, Son of Jackson Riley Venable and Mary Ruth ( Hart) McKee who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by one brother; Marion (Buck) Venable.
On September 17th 1995 in Amarillo Texas he was united in marriage to Melene Rae Appling who resides in the home.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother, Reva Venable. Five children; Lesley Venable, Lori Venable, Charles (Sarah) Cooke, Christopher Cooke, Ashley (Kipp) Wisler. Eleven grandchildren; Destiny, Skylynn, Caitlynn, Riley, Chloe, Alanah, Cailey, Christopher, Craelynn, Hannah, and Hayden. Four great grandchildren; Serenity, Lyla, Nolan, and Hudson. Four brothers; Herb Venable, Jack Venable (Casey), Clay Venable (Melanie), Kelly Venable (Cindy). And multiple cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
