Jerry Joe Howe Jr.'s Obituary
Jerry Joe Howe Jr., affectionately known as "JJ," passed away at his home in Moberly, MO, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the age of 48. A celebration of his life will be held on November 24, 2024, from 1-5 PM at the Huntsville City Hall at 205 South Mian Street in Huntsville, MO
Born on September 1, 1976, in Moberly, MO, JJ was the beloved son of Jerry Joe Howe Sr. and Brenda Hodge Howe. He married his soulmate, Rose, on September 1, 2022, in a beautiful ceremony on the James River in Hootentown, MO. Raised with the warmth and faith of Echoes of Calvary Pentecostal Church, JJ carried that spirit of joy and togetherness throughout his life, cherishing family gatherings and friendships deeply.
JJ’s life was full of passions—he loved anything fast, from cars and Harleys to model cars and Hot Wheels. His unique touch could turn any vehicle into a masterpiece, often with music thumping loud enough for friends to hear him from blocks away. Known for his humor and a little bit of "ornery charm," JJ loved sharing stories, especially about a fishing trip with his dad on Adam's boat, a memory he cherished.
A true pickle enthusiast, JJ never met a pickle he didn’t like. His playful spirit, boundless energy, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
JJ leaves behind his loving wife, Rose, of the home; his children, Justin, Adam, and Trever Howe, all of Moberly, MO, Alana Howe of Clifton Hill, MO, and Carter Howe of New London, MO; stepmother Marcia Howe of Fountain, CO; and stepfather Galen Gator (Severn) of Hootentown, MO. He will be remembered dearly by his siblings, Christina Hill of Springfield, MO, Amanda Browley (Jermaine) of Pagedale, MO, Joseph Jenkins (Tabitha) of Moberly, MO, and Sena Vanpelt (Christopher) of Fountain, CO; his cherished grandchildren Charlie, Andrew, Hunter, Phelix, Ava, and Vincent Howe; his lifelong best friend Preston Baxley (Shanda) of Huntsville, MO. as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
JJ was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents Everett and Tessie Howe, Dorothy Martin, and Kenneth Hodge.
JJ’s larger-than-life presence, love of adventure, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be missed profoundly. His memory will forever echo through the lives he touched.
