Jeanette K Gahring's Obituary
Jeanette Kay Gahring, 68, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Stover, Missouri.
Jeanette was born on June 13, 1957, on a small farm outside of Independence, Iowa, to Freddie and Loretta Rasmussen. She grew up in Independence, where she attended school, married Randy Gahring, and began raising their four children before relocating to Missouri. Jeanette and Randy later divorced but remained involved in family gatherings and supportive of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed being a grandmother—making quilts and sewing blankets for her grandchildren, teaching them how to play rummy, and spending time together doing word searches. She also enjoyed bowling and watching her favorite country music videos on Country Music Television.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Tonya Edgar (Ed) of Sedalia, Missouri; Curtis Gahring (Jill) of Atlanta, Georgia; Jason Gahring (Heather) of Sedalia, Missouri; and Tami Holder (Rob) of Eldon, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Emilee, Colby, Ava, Savannah, Chloe, Ethan, Henry, Hadlee, and Charlee; and three great-grandchildren, Skyler, Wesley, and Clay. She is also survived by her mother, Loretta Rasmussen; two sisters; one brother, all of Iowa; and her former husband, Randy Gahring of Cole Camp, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, Iowa. A private burial will be held at Wilson Cemetery in Independence.
Jeanette will be remembered by her family and those who knew her.
