Jane Clark's Obituary
Jane Clark, age 79, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Columbia, Missouri. Born on July 17, 1945 in Chicago Illinois, Jane devoted her life to her family, her faith, and serving others through her profession and volunteer ministry. Jane was the beloved wife of Leodeous Clark Sr., with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children: Jennifer (Benty) Clark-Williams, Leodeous (Zondra) Clark Jr., and Oliver (Brittany) Clark. Her joy was further multiplied by her granddaughter: Mercedes Purnell and four other grandchildren: Jessica, Joseph, Kamyra, and Kayla.
Jane's commitment to her family was paralleled by her dedication to her faith. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on March 20, 1971, she was passionate about sharing her faith and the hope it gave her. Jane was known for her zealous participation in her public volunteer ministry. She aimed to offer comfort and hope to others through the Bible's promises. Professionally, Jane was a Radiologic Technologist, a career that began after she graduated from college in the same field. Jane worked part-time in various Chicago area hospitals, where she was instrumental in obtaining diagnostic imaging for trauma patients. Her work in the medical field was not just a job but a continuation of her service to others, a trait that defined her life.
Jane's personal interests included sewing, ceramics, shopping and styling others. Jane also enjoyed recording precious moments with her video camera.You could often find her behind the camera filming her family and other relatives during picnics, weddings and other special occasions. Jane was also an avid Scrabble player. She enjoyed the game immensely and often played with her sister Rita and her husband Lee. Although they tried hard, victory was often elusive - they could not beat Lee. Later in life, Jane enjoyed playing video games. It was a joy to see Jane's competitive vigor as a gaming enthusiast.
Jane is survived by her loving family which includes her loyal husband, whom she married on August 23, 1968; shortly after Lee's decorated return from the Vietnam War with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Jane's three children, five grandchildren, siblings: Rita, Sybil, Phyllis (Timothy), Tony (Judy), Harold (Juanita), and Keith, along with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins - will miss her dearly. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Nadine Tyler and her brothers Arthur Jr. and Carl Tyler.
Jane's life was a testament to family, resilience, and unwavering faith in Jehovah God. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
