Jim was born on March 14. 1966, to Melba “Jean” and John T. Clausen Jr. He was the youngest of their 11 children and was born in the bedroom of their Florissant MO home, as several phones in the area were out of service that early morning. By the time oldest brother Richard was able to call an ambulance from a neighbor’s house, Jim had already graced us with his presence.
After graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Jim attended Florissant Valley Community College for a while before embarking on a 38-year career in warehousing and logistics for Burrows, and Schuck’s warehouses. Jim’s many interests included classic cars, collecting and rehabbing whatever he could get his hands on (he had a passion for pinball machines), music, skiing, travelling, camping, and floating Missouri’s many rivers. He was often seen around the area being pulled at high speed by his “best friend” Woody Boneroni (a pit bull mix) on his trike (Jim’s version of blacktop dog sledding). Jim loved posting on Facebook including daily music choices, videos of Woody, and other exploits. He was known for his wacky sense of humor.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Jean and John Clausen, his bothers Richard and Greg Clausen, sister Cecelia Clausen, and “best friend” Woody. He is survived by his siblings Joan Hynes, Mary Clausen-Thomas, Margaret (Ken) Holbert, Michael Clausen, Brian (Mary) Clausen, Thomas Clausen, and William Clausen as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, friends, cousins, aunts and uncles.
