Ida Nevins' Obituary
Ida Nevins, 93, of Fulton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her home in Fulton. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at Callaway Memorial Gardens, 1700 US Business Highway 54 S, Fulton, MO 65251 with Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating. Services will be live-streamed through Facebook on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 12:00 PM at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome.
Ida was born on May 12th, 1928 in Fulton, MO to Cecil and Barneybell Poston Brown. She was a graduate of Lincoln University High School in Jefferson City, MO. She joined the Second Christian Church and was baptized at an early age. She retired from the Fulton State Hospital as a beautician after 26 years of service. She enjoyed travelling, sports and competing on a bowling team.
In June of 1959, Ida was united in Holy Matrimony with John B. Nevins Sr. To this union 1 child was born: John B. Nevins Jr. Family and Education were extremely important to her and she was very proud of her son.
She leaves to cherish her memory: One Son John B. Nevins Jr. of Fulton, MO; Three Granddaughters Patrice Nevins-Rausch (Matthew) of Phoenix, AZ, Ashley Lee (Robert) and Johnishca "Rudy" Lee (Michael) of Columbia, MO. Five Great-Grandchildren Christopher Thomas Jr., Jayce Dye, A'Jameon Lee-Pittman, Leiland Nickens and Aspen Nickens.; One brother, Thomas Brown, Sr. (Lonita) Fulton, Mary Margaret Watson, Kansas City, MO and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Cecil and Barneybell Brown, husband, John Burton Sr. two sisters, Amelia (Meadie) Hickem, Marcella Robinson, and three brothers-in-law, Dave Hickem, Warren Robinson, Sr. and Robert Watson, Sr.
