Howard Williams, 59, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Golden LivingCenter - Pin Oaks Nursing Facility in Mexico, MO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Mexico, MO at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Saturday at the church.
Howard Russell Williams was born October 23, 1956, in Mexico, Missouri. He was the youngest child of Edward and Pauline Williams. Howard was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Hudson and Thomas.
Howard grew up in Mexico, Missouri. He attended the Mexico Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1973.
Howard was employed by A.B. Chance, in Centralia, Missouri, for over 38 years.
Rudd, as he was affectionately known, was pretty quiet and stayed to himself most often. However, he was an avid sports junkie. He also loved to play the trumpet. Rudd had the most infectious smile that will forever be embedded into our hearts.
Howard was a life-long faithful member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where he was baptized at an early age, accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior. Throughout the years Howard served in many capacities, such as altar boy, usher, as well as a member of the Youth Choir, Male Chorus, and Mass Choir. He was also on the Trustee Board.
Howard leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Viola; two sons, Emmanuel and Demmanuel, both of Mexico, MO; five grandchildren, Dae’kjuan Carpenter, Brayleigha Sefrit, Emmanuel Williams, Jr., Emmani Williams, and Antoine Williams; four brothers, Charles (Paula) of Skokie, IL; Gerald (Madeline) of Smithville, MO; Clyde (Edna) of Lee’s Summit; and Warren (Ida) of Olathe, KS; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
