Henri Jefferson,78, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Harry S Truman Veteran's Hospital. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Fifth Street Christian Church at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11-12PM Saturday at the church.
Henri M. Jefferson, 78, of Columbia went to be with the Lord on Friday August 29, 2025, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Henri was born on March 6, 1947, to John and Geraldine Jefferson. Upon graduating from high school, Henri decided to further his endeavor in life by joining the United States Army. It was during this time that he was able to see the world and live life to the fullest. Upon his return to Columbia, Henri applied and started a job at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital and in 2006 he married the love of his life Jacqueline Jefferson.
Henri was a proud and faithful member of Fifth Street Christian Church in which he served in the Brotherhood Ministry, Men Chorus and Feed the Community Ministry. He was a dedicated member of the Noble Spirits and the Noble Court Neighborhood group (the 1st Black Subdivision in Columbia).
Henri leaves to cherish his memory two nieces Cynthia Jefferson of Columbia, Mo, and Pat Jefferson of Lagrange, Ga; two nephews Edwyn Stapelton of Columba, Mo and Kevin Jefferson of Lagrange Ga.; a special beloved niece Quiara Crump of Columbia, Mo, a host of great nieces and nephews, friends and the Fifth Street Christian Church family.
Henri was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Edwards Jefferson, his parents Geraldine and John Jefferson Sr., and two brothers Charles Jefferson and John Jefferson Jr., two sisters Elaine Stapleton and Barbara Jefferson.
Henri was known for having a loving and a kind heart, willing to help anyone in need and brought joy to everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all.
