Harry Randolph Ricketts' Obituary
Harry Randolph Ricketts,79, of Columbia entered into the Master’s paradise on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospice. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Second Missionary Baptist Church at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11-12 pm at the church.
Harry Randolph Ricketts, 79, was Born October 26, 1935 to Armenia Griffin and Lilbert Ricketts. He passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 in North Kansas City, Mo. He joined Second Baptist Church at an early age.
Randolph attended and graduated from Douglass High School. For many years he was employed at Ellis Fischel Center until his retirement.
He was actively involved in coaching Little League Football for the Rams at Cosmo Park. His hobbies included the circus, trains and hosting 4th of July Bar-B-Ques. Being the sports fan that he was his favorite teams included the Kansas City Chiefs, the MU Tigers and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Randolph served as the bus driver for Second Baptist Church for many years and was very dedicated. Randolph loved his grandchildren and he loved taking them on trips.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his children Harry D. Ricketts of Columbia, Missouri, Charles R. Ricketts(Patricia) of Kansas City, Missouri; Daughters Deborah F. Chappell of Oklahoma, Donna Clayborne of Columbia, Missouri, Tamara Brown of Columbia, Missouri and his step-daughter Sandra Jones of Vandalia, Missouri. He is also survived by his sisters Mable (Carl) Ballenger of Columbia, Missouri, Darlene Cowans of Fayette, Missouri; Brothers John Roy Jones, Jerry Jones, and Wilbert Jones all of Fayette, Missouri; 23 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Randolph was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father Ed Griffin and his grandmother Gussie McDowell.
