Harold Craig's Obituary
Harold Craig, 56, of Raytown, MO, formerly of Sedalia, MO passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his home. Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Sedalia. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM at the church on Saturday.
Harold was born in Sedalia, Missouri on December 01, 1963 to the George (Jake) Craig and the late Mary Louise Craig. Harold lived a vibrant and exciting life that was filled with many achievements. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1982. He was an outstanding basketball player and was selected for 1st team all-conference (Ozark Conference), 1st team all-district and 2nd team all-state. He continued his education and basketball journey at Yavapai Community College Prescott AZ, North Central Community College, Trenton MO, and Dury University where he received his Bachelor’s in Communication. In 1986, he began his career as a Youth Counselor at The Spofford Home for Children, soon after he began his career at the Missouri Department of Social Services as an eligibility specialist for 20 years.
Harold was preceded in death by his mother May Louise Craig, sister Carol Marshall and son Carlos Lee Craig.
Harold Leaves to cherish his memory his loving children Cameron Craig of Oakley, California; Volanae Craig of Raytown, Missouri; Davon Craig of Coffeyville, Kansas and Harold Craig Jr. of Raytown, Missouri. His grandchildren Omar Craig, Nadia Craig, Elle Craig along with siblings Warren Jackson of Sedalia Missouri; Mildred (Kevin) Harrell of Kansas City Missouri; George (Patrice) Craig Jr. of Sedalia Missouri; Loleita (Monsuru) Ogunlana of Arlington, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
