Gordon Scott Watkins' Obituary
Gordon Scott Watkins, 55, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Amicasa Hospice House. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:30 PM at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville. A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
Gordon Scott Watkins was born on March 30, 1968, to Charles and Judith Watkins in Saint Louis, Missouri. He attended schools in Grandview, MO, graduated high school and enrolled in the University of Missouri where he met his wife, Chanel Leann Watkins. They were married on September 3, 1994, in Louisville, Kentucky. They became the proud parents of their daughter, Adalyn Nashae in May 2001.
Gordon was a family man who sought to create a better neighborhood and community. He worked to create a better neighborhood by attending neighborhood watch meetings in Kansas City, Mo, as well as serving as an Epidemiologist for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services combating viruses internationally and locally for over 23 years. In addition, Gordon worked for CDC serving as a Public Health Advisor in areas such as Miami and Chicago in lower income communities providing health assistance to members of the community.
He attended the University of Missouri for his undergraduate degree where he majored in English and minored in Communication studies, later on, he graduated from Webster University to pursue a Masters in Hospital Administration in 2008.
He leaves behind his daughter, Adalyn Watkins, His mother Judith Anne Watkins, his brother, Terrence Andrew Watkins, and a host of many relatives and friends.
