Glenn Tibbs' Obituary
Glenn or as most knew him "Speedy" Tibbs passed on 01/05/2026.
Born in Decatur Illinois to Gerald and Ila Tibbs in 1956. Moved to Winslow Arizona in 1972, where he graduated from Winslow High School in 1974. He served in the Army from 1975-1979 spending the majority of that time stationed in Germany. He returned from his service and worked at the family owned Shamrock gas station. In 1984 he started working at what was then named ATSF which is now known as BNSF. He officially retired from the railroad in 2004. Speedy enjoyed being outdoors especially riding his motorcycles, Camping, and Fishing with his friends. He also really enjoyed taking cruises and long road trips traveling around the US. Speedy acted as a pillar of the community especially in his time as Exalted Ruler of the ELKS club. A couple of his favorite ways to give back were any charities that involved children and the hides for vets program.
Speedy is survived by his wife of 44 years Doreen, their son Robert, his daughter-in-law Sara, and Grandson who he loved immensely Conner. Along with 2 sisters, 1 brother, numerous Sister-in-laws, Brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a HUGE number of very close friends that he considered family as well.
