His greatest joy and pride in life were all of his children. He was full of love and lessons, both tender and caring as well as colorful and unconventional. He is survived by his eldest Tracie Popejoy of Bulter, Stacie Popejoy and her two sons: Paul and Destin Stewart, Shelly Popejoy and her children: Nichole Vick, Dakota Harth, Shelby Harth, Shance Spor, and Clorissa Holt, Chance Poindexter and his children: Alyssa, Ava and Jackson. He will always be remembered for the one of a kind character that he was. His blue eyes twinkled all of his day with an orneryness that promised mischief and fire. His hands likened to that of a gorilla for their shear size and strength, made him capable of the hard work and labor that he threw himself into most of his days. While he was never a man of wealth and need for possessions, he certainly was a treasure to those that knew and loved him and will sorely be missed. As per his wishes and life long love of flames, he was cremated. A memorial celebration of life dinner will be held on Saturday June 1, 2019 at the American Legion Hall in Stover, MO. Family and friends are welcome to gather starting 4 PM until food or company runs out.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me:
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven's Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, And told me "Welcome Home." So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.
