George L. Harris' Obituary
George L. Harris, 55, of Kansas city, Missouri, formerly of Marshall, passed on Monday September 7, 2015 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas city, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 11, 2015 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
.George was born October 1, 1959 in Marshall, Missouri to the parents of George and Francis Harris who preceded him in death. George got his education at Marshall High School. He relocated to Kansas City and most recently worked for the City Union Mission and Lexington Thrift Store. George always had a smile and a kind word whether you were a stranger or a friend.
George was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Sunday School and Laymen’s Ministries and participated with the Male Chorus. His faith and relationship with God flourished in his life and enabled him to be strong in the face of adversity and challenges. Through it all, George remained steadfast and was a man with a giving spirit who genuinely enjoyed being of service and helping others.
He leaves to cherish his memory his step-mother Lorretta Harris of Marshall, Mo., two step-brothers Mark Hagar and Mic Hagar, one step-sister Shawn Hagar, two uncles Marvin Butler (Samantha) and Melvin Butler (Charlotte), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
