Gene Edward Enyart's Obituary
Gene Edward Enyart, 76, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his home surrounded by his wife and his dog Michaelangelo along with his cat Brigade that truly loved him. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at St. Luke United at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM Saturday at the church.
Gene Edward Enyart was born on October 28, 1942, in Armstrong, MO to the late Frank and Katherine Enyart. He was affectionately called Wimpy, Hogan, Geno, Paw Paw, etc.
He worked many years of service with the custodial Department at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, also at the Boone Hospital Center and was the first Black security guard at Columbia College where he retired.
He was united in marriage to Judith Ann Jordan on June 15, 1990. They were blessed with one set of twins Gene and Regina that passed away at birth.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Judith Ann of the home, three sons from his first marriage to Earnestine Cathron, Tyrone Enyart, Terry(Alice) Enyart, and Tony(Lorna) Enyart all of Columbia, MO, three stepchildren Timothy(Sonya) Ellis, of Columbia, MO, Sherrod Ellis of Fort Worth, TX, and Shari Lomax of Columbia, MO ,three brothers Carl(Mary Ann) Enyart of Boonville, MO, Earl (Cindy) Enyart of Buckeye, AZ, and Glen Cooper of Pasadena, CA, three sisters Donna Cooper and Mary McKee both of Columbia, MO, and Denese Wilson of Alto Dena, CA. He also leaves grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives.
Gene was preceded in death by both parents, one son Mark Enyart, and two sisters Charlotte Allan and Martha Allan.
