Gary Lee Wagner, born December 21, 1962, in Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 61.
Gary was a man of many passions and interests. He had a lifelong love for building model cars and planes, immersing himself in science fiction through books and movies, and rocking out to his favorite rock & roll music. He cherished the simple joys of life, and perhaps nothing brought him more happiness than working side by side with his brother Larry. Whether in work or play, Gary found deep satisfaction in connecting with the people and things he loved.
Gary is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mary and Clyde Kaestner of Kirksville, MO; his maternal grandmother, Icyle Roop of Newton, IA; his father, Gary R. Buck of El Paso, TX; his stepfather, Larry Wagner I of Boonville, MO; his aunts and uncles, Dean Harlow, Ted Harlow, Curtis Harlow, Liz Gearling, and Karen Stiles of Newton, IA, as well as his brother-in-law, Ken Boyer of Rocheport, MO.
He leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly, including his mother, Billye Jo Bruner of Columbia, MO; his sisters, Barb Boyer of Rocheport, MO, Stephanie Cason (Scott) of Columbia, MO, Tracy Chinderle of unknown whereabouts, and Beth Canter (Louis) of Kerrville, TX; and his brothers, Larry Wagner II of Boonville, MO, and Houston Buck of Texas and his aunt Jolene Werth (Bob) of Paradise, TX.
Gary was also a proud uncle to his many nephews: Jon Mountain, Mike Thomas, Cliston Buck, Trevor Mountain, Chris Thomas, Hudson Wilson, Seth Harris, Alex Harris, Ben Harris, Tyler Wagner, and Max Chinderle, and nieces: Onyx Wilson and Kiersten Wagner. His love extended even further to his numerous great-nieces and nephews and many cousins, all of whom he cared for deeply.
Gary will be remembered for his kind heart, his passion for life, and the deep love he had for his family and hobbies. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
