Gary Hockaday's Obituary
Gary Hockaday, 73, of Slater, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at KU Medical Center. Services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM at St. Paul Baptist Church in Slater, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Paul Baptist Church.
Gary Eugene Hockaday was born November 11, 1949 to Herman A. Hockaday Sr. and Virginia Mae (Falls) Hockaday.
He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Diane Hockaday, and Laverne Mirtzine, four brothers, Herman Jr., Charles Sr., Roddie, and Kenny Hockaday.
He attended elementary and high school in Slater, Missouri, graduating in 1970.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Paul FWBC.
He worked at Banquet Foods, Wilson’s and Penny Plate. He impacted many lives with his friendly demeanor and was well to his friends as (Shotgun) and always lived and done life his way.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three brothers Stevie (Theresa) Hockaday, Timmie (Clarissa) Hockaday of Marshall, Missouri, Claude Henry Ellis of Chicago, Illinois, one sister Shelia (Larry) Moore of Slater, Missouri. Two sister-in-law Linda Kaye Hockaday of Ferguson, Missouri, Marilyn Hockaday of Slater, Missouri and a host of nephews and nieces, two aunts, one uncle and a host of cousins.
