Freddie Nevels' Obituary
Freddie Nevels Sr., 67, of Columbia, died Sunday at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday at Mt. Celestial Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the church.
Freddie Nevels was born July 6, 1942 in Charleston, Mo. the son of Stanford and Colleta Woody Nevels. He was employed by the city of Columbia for many years. He attended Mt. Celestial Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons Freddie Nevels Jr., George Gardner and Josh Allen all of Columbia, two daughters Videtta “Peggy” Alvis of Chicago, Il., and Yvette Nevels of Columbia, two brothers Clifford Nevels and Earl Nevels both of Columbia, two sisters Leora Glasgow and Anna Allen of Columbia, and 13 grandchildren, as well as a long time friend and fishing buddy Thomas “Butch” Simmons.
