Elzie Napier's Obituary
Elzie Napier, 78, of Marshall, Mo., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Marshall at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9-11 Saturday at the church.
Elzie was born July 19, 1936 to the late Elzie L. Napier and Ethel Bell Napier in Marshall, Mo. He attended Lincoln Public School, Marshall, Mo. from 1st to 8th grade. From 9th grade to 12th grade he attended and graduated from C.C. Hubbard High School at Sedalia, Mo. After graduation he joined the U. S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp on November 8, 1962.
Elzie accepted Jesus Christ in his life at an early age. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Fayette, Mo. He was a member of the Senior Choir and the Trustee Board.
From his marriage to Tessie M. Napier five daughters were born. He is survived by Maggie Perkins, Marshall, Mo., Geraldine (Al) Jones, Olathe, Ks., Joann (Rodney) Boston, Lees Summit, Mo., Maryann Napier and Teresa Napier, Marshall,Mo.
From his marriage to Sandra D. Napier of the home, he is survived by two step-sons. James (Marsha) Williams, Jr. and Michael (Bobbi) Williams, Lacey, Washington. Elzie is survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and one “adopted church daughter”, Maryette Wayland. He is survived by three sisters, Thelma (Wilbert)Johnson, Gardena, Ca., Mary (Arthur) Brown and Shirley (Sam) Moten of Marshall, Mo., a half sister, Maize Campbell,Independence, Mo. a half brother William (Judy) Webb, Grandview, Mo. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ruth N. Butler and one grandson, Christopher N. Napier.
