Elmer Redden's Obituary
Elmer Redden, 81, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 12:00 PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 PM Tuesday at the church.
Elmer Redden was born August 3, 1939 in Ashland, MO, the son of Johnnie and Willie Mae Williams Redden, He was one of the first black graduates of Ashland High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Texas and at Fort Leonard Wood. Elmer had a long career as a master auto mechanic and retired from Elite Automotive in Columbia.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Carrie Redden of the home, four children Herman Johnson of Columbia, MO, Maceann (Brandon) Palmer of Columbia, MO, Damon Johnson and Torrey Johnson of Columbia, MO, one brother Howard Redden of Columbia, MO, two sisters Ada Ralph and Gertrude Redden both of Ashland, Mo, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Randall King II,
