Elmer Banks' Obituary
Elmer Banks, 89, of Boonville, slept into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 11 am at HT May & Son Funeral Home in Boonville. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
Elmer Banks was born on January 5, 1924 in Gooch’s Mill, MO to Addie Banks.
He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Gooch’s Mill, MO.
He attended Sumner School in Boonville, MO and played the French Harp and Clarinet. He loved to listen to music especially gospel music. He was known by his friends and family as Pug. Elmer served our nation as a member of the United States Navy.
Elmer leaves to cherish his memory his nieces; Shirley Givens of KC, MO, Virginia Council of Boonville, Yvonne Jackson of Raytown, MO, Veda Givens of Lee’s Summit, MO, Pam Dowe of Boonville, Glenetta Lue-Long of Omaha, NE, and Stephanie Askew of Nashville, TN.; nephews; Robert Banks of Boonville, Stacy Lue of Omaha, NE, Stephon Lue of Los Angeles, CA; He also leaves a number of great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, two sisters, and four brothers.
