Elijah Tyler's Obituary
Elijah Tyler, 19, of Columbia, MO., passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. There will be no visitation.
Elijah Tyler was born on January 5, 1999 in Ft. Madison, Iowa to Joshlyn Lee and Allen Tyler Jr. Elijah lost his life on July 15, 2018. Elijah was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents; Slyvester Leslie Lee and Alquita Elaine Lee and Allen Tyler Sr.
During Elijah’s early childhood, he spent a lot of time living with his Aunt Phyllis and Justin in Columbia, MO. He then moved with Justin to Olathe, KS where he spent his middle school years and beginning of high school. While living in KS Elijah was a drummer for the Olathe Kansas High Steppers. Elijah then moved back to Columbia, MO to be reunited with his mother and siblings as well as his “second mother”, Dewanna Miller and best friend Tyrell Miller. On May 28th, 2017 Elijah Tyler and Jocelyn Phiakeo welcomed baby Onna Shiree Tyler into the world. While living in Columbia, Elijah attended and graduated from Douglas High School in 2018. Elijah was an avid lover of skateboarding. He would spend numerous of hours at skate parks as well by watching and teaching others how advanced he was in trying new tricks. Outside of skateboarding, Elijah was a big provider for his mother, his siblings, and niece and nephew. Elijah loved children and enjoyed spending time with his daughter Onna.
Elijah is survived by his parents, Joshlyn Lee of Columbia, MO and Allen Tyler Jr of Chicago, IL; One Grandmother, Mary Tyler of Chicago, Il, seven sisters: Tyheshia Leslea Lee, KremiaAlishea Tyler, Alaysha Markya Lee of Columbia, MO, Airieonna Robinson, Cheyenne Tyler, Myeshia Tyler and Isabella Tyler of Chicago, IL. One daughter, Onna Tyler, one niece Ivy Ried, one nephew Ilias Tyler and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Elijah will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that had a bright smile and you would guarantee to get a good laugh in his presence. A young life taken too soon.
