Elder Deborah Annette Greene's Obituary
Elder Deborah Annette Greene, 53, of Columbia and a native of Albion, MI., entered into eternal glory on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at University of Missouri Hospital. Homegoing services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at United Community Cathedral located at 5210 S. Cowan Dr. Columbia, Mo., burial will be at Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-1 at the church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12-1 at the church.
She was born August 24, 1958 in Albion Michigan to William H. Greene Sr. and the late Beulahanne Greene (Woods). Deborah attended Albion Public Schools and graduated from Albion High School in 1976. She attended Spring Arbor College for two years. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a former member of Grace Temple Church of God in Christ under the late Administrative Asst. Robert L. Brown in Albion, MI. While attending Grace Temple, Deborah was very active in the ministry of music.
In 1995 she was appointed pastor of New Covenant Ministries in Madison, WI.
Deborah was licensed and ordained as an Elder in 1995 under the leadership of Bishop R. L. Freeman, Senior Pastor. Upon moving to Columbia she became an active member and minister of United Community Cathedral.
From 1996 through 2012 she was a member and active minister of United Community Cathedral, where she was in the Prison Ministry, Evangelism Ministry, Music Ministry, Counseling and mentoring, as well as preaching and teaching the gospel.
Elder Greene will always be remembered as a great minister of the gospel. Deb’s effectiveness on so many lives speaks for itself and will for many years to come.
She was employed by the University of Missouri as an administrative assistant in the Dermatology Department. She was instrumental in recruiting and coordinating the medical student’s rotation.
“Deb” was very outgoing, funny, quick-witted, caring, and giving. “Deb” knew no strangers!
She leaves to cherish her memory her father William H. Greene Sr., of Albion, MI., two brothers William H. Greene Jr., of Albion, MI., and Marcus L, Greene of Pontiac, MI., two sisters Gwendolyn T. Greene of the state of Washington, and Elder Marsha L. Greene of Columbia, Mo., a special sister Gwendolyn Google of Nashville, TN., Aunts Bessie Ward of Grand Rapids, MI., Edith Davis of Pontiac, MI., an Uncle James Fairley(Janice) of Jackson, MI., and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Beulahanne Greene and two brothers Marlon R. Greene Sr., and Glenn M. Greene.
