Edward Russell Mueller's Obituary
Edward “Ed” Russell Mueller, age 82, departed this life on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born on March 8, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Russell and Frieda Mueller of Affton, St. Louis.
Ed proudly served his country in the National Guard. On December 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Catherine Westhusing in Osage Beach, Missouri, and together they shared nearly 50 years of love and partnership.
A man of many skills and strong work ethic, Ed was self-employed as a stone mason and later worked in wholesale, retail, and catering at Forever Friends. He also built log homes and crafted log furniture, pouring his passion into every project. His true joy came from building, fixing, and helping others, but above all, he treasured time with his family and friends. He loved his coffee, a good meal, canoeing, and spending time with his brother Richard.
Ed is survived by his wife Catherine of the home; his children Mike Mueller and Nita Buechter (Tony); his grandchildren Jessica Shepherd, Tisha Doubenmier, Kindal Parrack, Hannah Buechter, Hadlee Buechter, Isabella Buechter, and Cody Doubenmier; and his great-grandchildren Adrionna Shepherd, Kailey Shepherd, Anaya Shepherd, Trayton Mueller-Doubenmier, Chaston Munsterman, Kindrea Parrack, Ethan Reinhart, Adrian Reinhart, Zachary Reinhart and Heather Doubenmier.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sherrie Mueller and Sue Mueller; his brother, Richard Mueller; and his parents, Russell and Frieda Mueller.
A memorial service celebrating Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:30–2:00 p.m. at Resolve Freewill Baptist Church, 387 Highway 42, Kaiser, MO 65047.
