It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward (Eddie) King, who left us on January 5, 2025.
Edward (Eddie) King was born August 28, 1962 to Edward Gordon and Geraldine (Coats) Gordon.
Eddie was a kind and gentle soul, known to many as a "gentle giant." His warmth and laughter brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Eddie’s first job was as a paperboy for the Columbia Missourian Newspaper at seven years old.
Eddie loved nothing more than spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys was fishing with his dad, where he found peace and connection in nature. He also shared a deep bond with his beloved dog, Toby, who was his constant companion and source of comfort.
A lover of music, Eddie had a unique talent for dancing, often lighting up the room with his energy. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
He leaves to cherish his memory, brothers John (Rasheedah) King, Elias (Kim) King and one sister Marilyn King and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine (Coats) Gordon and Edward Gordon, brothers James (Babe) King, Robert (Bobby) King, Richard King and Anthony (Tony) King.
He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
