Duran Taylor Griffith, 30, of Columbia, MO passed away on Thursday December 19, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, At St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Columbia at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday.
Duran Taylor Griffith, 30, of Columbia passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Duran was born in Columbia on February 12, 1989 to Kevin Eugene Griffith and Kim Hall.
Duran attended Hickman and was a 4.0 student. He played football while in school and was a member of the Blind Boone Drumline. He was an entrepreneur and was very fashionable and he also loved to draw. His favorite song was “Candy” by Cameo. His family described him as a socializer and a jokester who liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed cooking for his family and wanted to own his own food truck. He enjoyed throwing parties, but was a straight shooter never holding anything back. He was “real”! He loved his kids and family and always put family first.
Left behind to miss him are his mother: Kim Hall; father Kevin Griffith (Stepmother Shan Griffith-Norman); children D’Zeric Griffith, Romiah Griffith, Kayliana Robinson, Kylah Lampkin, Jarae Sydnor; brothers: Kevin J. Griffith, Dushane Griffith, Thomas Newman; sister: Dajah Whitaker, Corelia Whitaker, Shyre Griffith, Aniya Griffith, Isaac Redd, Vercie Redd of Sikeston, and numerous other brothers and sisters; grandparents: Raymond Hall, Patricia Buckner-Hall; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Pauline Griffith and Lawrence Crowder, Gloria Cooper and Emmitt Moore.
